Nominating Committee Considers Appointments To IDB
The Jefferson County Commission Nominating Committee met Monday, March 10th at the Jefferson County Courthouse. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert Tucker and after approval of the agenda and Minutes of the last meeting the committee addressed the items on the agenda. There were no citizen comments to be heard so the first item addressed was nominations to fill the vacancies on the Industrial Development Board left by the expiration of Jeffrey Duignan and Greg Worley’s terms. No new nominations had been received by the Nominating Committee and both Duignan and Worley were willing to serve again, so a motion was made by Commissioner Solomon to leave them on the Industrial Development Board. The motion received a second by Commissioner Musick and was approved by vote. The second item addressed was a vacancy on the Conservation Board left by Bobby Thacker’s resignation. Commissioner Solomon nominated Bill Clampitt to fill the position and the committee approved the nomination. The final item on the agenda was to be an update from County Commission Chairman Marty Mills on the Alpha Chart, which details all mayoral board appointments. Chairman Mills was absent from the meeting so the item was rolled to the next Nominating Committee meeting. Commissioner Solomon then made a motion to adjourn the meeting, with a quick second by Commissioner Musick. Meeting Adjourned.
