The Jefferson County High School Class of 2014 presented their Senior Play last weekend to four days of standing room only crowds. This year’s offering was Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and the students gave a stellar performance. Following the show, audience members were encouraged to interact with their favorite characters, much to the delight of some of the youngest patrons. The part of Belle was performed by Katie Inman and Steve Wright gave life to the Beast. Ryan Carter played Gaston and was joined by Matt Oakes as Lefou, Nathan Clabough as Lumiere, Trevor James as Cogsworth, Brianne Zacchini as Mrs. Potts, Farrah Hodge as Babette, Katie Lewis as Madame de la grand Bouche, Natalie Arnold as Chip, Daniel McCoy as Maurice and Gui Xin ( William) Zhang as Monsieur D’Arque.

The remaining Ensemble included Kendra Adams, Ben Allen, Jantzen Ashby, Darby Atchley, Kieran Braun, Haylee Denton, Autumn Dodson, Shayne Edwards, Kati Fawbush, Zach Hawks, Zach Hubard, Joley James, Corey Jenkins, Lily Johnson, Kenzie Manley, Dillon Moyers, Kaitlyn Reed, Christina Rowntree, Caitlin Stroud, Briana Trull and Zach Williford.

Hannah Oakes was the student artist and set design and Stage Crew and Students Assistants were Bekah Gladden, Ian Greer, Kelsey Haun, Josh Fraley, Jarret Moser, Garrett English, Isaac Fields, Kyle Pullen and Andrew Vick.

Special thanks were given to David Seal’s HVACR & Construction Core Classes, Alan Reece’s Digital Design II & III Classes, as well as Barter Theatre and Costumes by Dewayne.

Music for Beauty and the Beast was composed by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman & Tim Rice. The play was based on the book by Linda Woolverton and was originally directed by Robert Jess Roth and originally produced by Disney theatrical Productions.
