The Jefferson County Republican Party gathered on Friday, March 21, 2014 for their annual Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner. Hosted at Stokely Memorial Cafeteria on Carson Newman University Campus, the grand old party packed the dining room. Jefferson County Republican Party Chairwoman Paula Rugel Gibson offered the welcome and acknowledged a host of elected officials, as well as those seeking seats during the current election year. Special guest speaker for this year’s celebration was Dennis Boggs, as Meet Mr. Lincoln. Boggs gave an entertaining look at the 16th President and the scope of his most famous contributions to American History. Congressman Duncan presented remarks from Washington, D.C. and State Representatives Faison and Farmer, as well as State Senator Niceley, gave a brief overview of what is happening in the State of Tennessee. Representative Farmer, Representative Faison and Senator Niceley also presented retiring Jefferson County Court Clerk Rick Farrar with an official acknowledgment of his 36 years of service.

Betty Fain, of the Jefferson County Republican Women, presented The Barbara McAndrew-Jefferson County Republican Women Award to Susan Gaddis Gass, for her years of service and dedication to the Jefferson County Republican Party. Other contributions for the evening came from Attorney General Jimmy Dunn, who offered the Invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance led by Judge Duane Slone and Kaylee Kesterson’s vocal performance of the National Anthem.
