Helen Babcock This Year’s People’s Choice Winner in FCE Quilt Show

FCE Quilt Show Peoples Choice Winner, Helen Babcock, Tennessee Waltz

First Baptist Church in Dandridge hosted the FCE Quilt show on Thursday, March 27, 2014. Quilters from Jefferson County and Family and Community Education clubs from surrounding counties brought their beautiful creations to share with the public. The quilts were judged, with winners in many different categories, as well as a People’s Choice winner chosen by the public. Helen Babcock of Talbott was this year’s People’s Choice winner. Her quilt was modeled on an Australian pattern to which she made modifications. She hand appliquéd the quilt, A Tennessee Waltz, and it was quilted by Sharon Lakin with different quilted motifs in each square, as well as a border of musical notes.
