The Dandridge Lion’s Club recently celebrated the 75th Anniversary of its Charter, which was delivered on March 30, 1939. Chartered with 24 members, none of the original members are still living. Though the original Charter Night was held in the Maury High School, the majority of meetings during the first several years were held at the Shepard Inn located in the Historic Town Square. With a nod to days of old, the 75th Anniversary celebration was also held in the newly restored Shepard Inn. Distinguished guests for the evening were current District Governor Mike McDonough and his wife Jane, District Governor Elect Ed Gibbons and his wife Theresa and 1st Vice District Governor Elect Fletcher Stevens and his wife Jackie.

Dandridge Club President Travis Hurdle joined Doug Goddard and Jim Everett in addressing the group. Goddard and Everett spoke on the history of the organization and its place in community as one of the surviving charitable organizations.
