Piedmont’s Annual Walk-A-Thon

Piedmont Elementary School’s Annual Walk-a-thon

A chill was in the air, but the students were warming up quickly as they walked their laps at the Piedmont Elementary Annual Walk-A-Thon. Students and Staff at Piedmont participated in the Walk-A-Thon which was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Students showed their Panther pride by walking as many laps as they could, with some students logging in a couple of miles! Students enjoyed the spring morning, walking and chatting with friends during the fundraiser. Students raised funds by asking family, friends and acquaintances for donations per lap or a flat rate. The students and school were proud to participate in this type of fundraiser, which directly involves students and allows them to exercise for the donations, and resulted in a very successful event which raised nearly $500.00. Funds collected from the event will be used to purchase equipment for the gym at the school.
