Leslie Odom had one of her better games of her career Tuesday night. Unfortunately, her effort alone was not enough to carry the Lady Patriots to victory. “Odom pitched a great game, I mean a great game, but you can’t expect your pitcher to hold a team to 2 or 3 runs. We have to score more runs.” Massaro said.

Odom got the nod on the mound for the Lady Patriots and was very impressive, striking out 10 Lady Hurricanes while only allowing one earned run in a complete game outing. She also led with the stick in the contest going 3-4 including a seventh inning solo homerun to cut the Morristown East lead to 3-2.

Jefferson County would strike first leading 1-0 after the first inning. Morristown East would answer scoring one run in the second inning and two runs in the fourth inning to lead 3-1 after four. Jefferson County would respond in the seventh with the Odom homerun. After Stuart and Garvin would make the first two outs of the inning, Paige “PR” Rosenbaum would step to the plate with a chance to tie the game. Rosenbaum slapped a hard shot against the outfield fence that was just foul, after getting the second strike on her, “PR” hit an absolute strike that bounced off of the top of fence at King Park but again was just foul. She would later strike out to end the game for the Lady Patriots, 3-2. “This team has fight. PR had a great at bat there at the end, I wish she could’ve ended it with a nice hit.”

Jefferson County outhit Morristown East 11 hits to 5 in the contest. Jefferson County also left 12 runners on base in the contest but only lost by 1 run. “ If we would’ve just scored half of them the score would have been at least 7-3.” Massaro said.

With the loss Jefferson County falls to 11-13(6-5 IMAC)
