Fire Chiefs Meet To Discuss Needs

The Jefferson County Fire Chief’s Association hosted an informational meeting on Saturday to address the importance of keeping updated equipment and other issues integral to First Responders. Congressman Jimmy Duncan, State Representative Jeremy Faison and Jefferson County Mayor Alan Palmieri were in attendance, as well as local First Responders. The meeting was held at the Jefferson County Rescue Squad and was an important opportunity for local First Responders to meet with each other and their State, National and local Representatives concerning issues that have a safety impact on citizens. The Fire Chief’s Association recently presented the Jefferson County Budget Committee a proposal that would address some of the most pressing equipment needs for area Fire Departments, who are largely volunteer and service the city and county areas of Jefferson County.
