REV. KYLE W. CATE

REV. KYLE W. CATE, age 76, of New Market, TN went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday evening, May 7, 2014 at his home following a brief illness. Kyle was a life-long resident of the Dumplin Community and was a beloved pastor in Jefferson County and surrounding communities for over 43 years, having served French Broad Valley Baptist Church, Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Flint Gap Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Good Hope Baptist Church, Mansfield Gap Baptist Church, Mountain View Baptist Church, Nina Baptist Church, and Bethel Mission Baptist Church. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of Magnavox. Preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Lou Cate. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Beulah Hubbs Cate; sons, Michael Cate, Scott (Karen) Cate; grandchildren, Jordan Scott Cate and Makayla Paige Cate; brother, Glen Mac (Jean) Cate; sister, Mildred (Clyde) Lindsey; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services, Friday, May 9, 2014, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel (Jefferson City) with Rev. Ronnie White, Rev. Jimmy Norris and Rev. Jerry DeZearn officiating. Interment graveside services, Saturday, May 10, 2014, 11:00am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Dr. Don McIntyre presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Nina Baptist Church Building Fund, 641 Hwy. 113, White Pine, TN 37890.
