White Pine School honored students with a Golden Achievement Celebration on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Director of Jefferson County Schools, Dr. Charles Edmonds, and White Pine School Principal Walker were on hand to congratulate students on their academic achievement in the 2013-2014 school year. Keynote Speaker for the event was U.S. Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. whose address preceded the special presentation of awards for the student’s success in the classroom. Principal Walker gave both the Opening Remarks, following the Welcome from Lori Tucker, and the Closing Remarks. Director Edmonds also spoke to the students regarding their high academic achievement. Student Hayley Anderson added vocals to event with her performance of the National Anthem and also led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. White Pine School organized the Golden Achievement Celebration to recognize those students that excelled at academics during the school year.
