Core Golf Center held its’ open house on Saturday May 24th. Located off of Cline Road in Dandridge, Core Golf Center has everything you need to improve your golf skills, as well as state of the art technology to improve even the most experienced golfers in the area. “It’s a complete golfing development center” Says Owner Paul Moody

The long range portion of the complex simulates two fairways with multiple pin locations, much like your other driving ranges have, but it is the other things the complex offers that make Core Golf stand out. “We have a fairway bunker, we have a green side bunker, we have an uneven lies area.” Moody stated. He also added, “We have a short game area so you can actually pitch balls up onto the green, which other places do not like you to do that.” Besides the everyday stuff that will go on at Core Golf Center, Moody also says they will offer lessons, camps, and clinics that will be coming up this summer.

Paul Moody is a PGA professional with over 17 year of experience under his belt and understands the importance of practice, “ I opened Core Golf to create a facility to practice” He added “ A lot of golf courses have driving ranges, which are really just a warm up area.” He also added, “I enjoy teaching the game and I want to help grow the game in this area (Jefferson County) with the closest facility like this one being in West Knoxville, the folks of Jefferson County aren’t driving so far.”

Moody is also the Head Golf Coach at Maury Middle School and plans to use his development center to advance his young players abilities as well. “ I feel like we have an advantage, if we are struggling at specific thing we can come out here to correct it, where other teams just get to go play golf.”

Core Golf Center is approximately 75% complete as of now. However, when it is complete it will be a state of the art golfing center with a snack bar, lounge area, and an educational area. It will also be equipped with indoor practice capabilities, as well as video swing analysis .

Moody ended saying there was a reason it is Core Golf Center and not just a range, “I didn’t want to say “driving range” because I do want it to be a golf center, we are going to have golf merchandise, camps, clinics, lessons, I want people to experience everything.”
