Marge Stefaniak has announced her candidacy for the position of County Commissioner for District 5. A long time resident of Jefferson County, Stefaniak’s career is in business management and, though she is semi retired, she remains a part of the local business community. A cancer survivor, Marge understands the importance of meeting challenges and working through situations to achieve the most favorable outcome. She spent several years at the helm of the Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity and appreciates the success that can be achieved when people work together for a common goal.

“As a business woman, I learned the art of negotiation and to balance the bottom line to do the most with the least amount of costs. There are important decisions facing this community and we need leadership that can come to the table and negotiate in the best interest of all citizens.” Stefaniak said.

In addition to her foundation in business and leadership in community service, Marge is active in the Hebron Presbyterian Church and is a proud mother and grandmother. She is the widow of John Sefaniak and resides in Patriot Landing.

“I believe that education is important and it has a funding place along side economic development, roads and other needs that are a part of managing a progressive county. I also believe that funding for those needs can be accomplished with consideration for the tax payers and citizenship of Jefferson County. I pledge to maintain a respectful relationship with the citizens of Jefferson County and members of the County Commission to allow our county to grow and prosper in a manner that is reflective of the desires of the constituency in District 5. Please remember to cast your ballot in the August 7, 2014 general election and I would appreciate you support and vote in my quest to represent District 5”.
