The Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors also announced that a search committee has been formalized to find a full-time President and CEO for the Chamber. This vacancy came about when current President and CEO Don Cason announced his resignation recently after serving the citizens of Jefferson County for almost eight years. Mr. Cason and his wife, Kim, plan to return to the hospitality business.

Chamber Board Chair, Tommy Bible is pleased that Dr. Kina Mallard will chair the search committee. Dr. Mallard serves as Executive Vice President and Provost at Carson-Newman University and will bring a wealth of experience and professionalism to the search.

Others serving on the search committee include Mr. Max Fultz with Bush Brothers who also serves as chairman of the Jefferson County Development Oversight Committee, Jefferson County Mayor Alan Palmieri, Mr. Trevor Hodgson with Overman Inc. who also serves as vice-chair of the Chamber Board of Directors and Mr. Conard Frye with Appalachian Electric Cooperative and former member of the chamber Board of Directors.

“I am confident that our search committee will find the right person to lead the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce to many successful years as we move forward.”
