The New Market Fire Department hosted their 10th annual SummerFest this weekend. A community event, SummerFest is a highly anticipated fundraiser for the New Market Volunteer Fire Department. Great food and multiple activities for the children were punctuated with toe tapping music at the two day shindig. Despite a little sporadic rain, the event was well attended. One of the highlights of SummerFest is the annual car show, which brings in antique automobile owners and enthusiasts from across the region. The New Market Fire Department is a totally volunteer organization and is heavily dependent on the support of the community, where they are embraced and appreciated for their dedication and commitment to their friends and neighbors.
