The Lake Will Shake Afterall! – Shakin’ The Lake Firework Show Is Back On

Shakin’ the Lake, a popular, annual fireworks event that takes place at The Point Marina and is viewed by hundreds of visitors from various locations, including the Dandridge Dike, is back on. According to Eva Talley, of The Point, public interest in saving the event was high and some local business owners willingly contributed to the costs of the fireworks show, which was cancelled recently due to a lack of support funding for the costly event. Talley said that The Point is excited to be able to offer the show again this year and had been disappointed when the event had been cancelled a couple of weeks ago. Though getting contracts with the pyrotechnic company was tricky, Talley confirmed on Sunday afternoon that Shakin’ the Lake 2014 will be presented, as previously scheduled, on July 3rd. In addition to the fabulous fireworks display, The Point will have other family friendly activities. Talley said that she is grateful that the band and pyrotechnic company were able to recommit and hope that other activities that were planned can also be salvaged on short notice.

The Fairview Union will be providing the music for Shakin’ the Lake and Pyro Shows is shooting the fireworks. Shakin’ the Lake will begin around dark but the fun is an all day event. Grab the family, a chair or blanket and get ready for the show.
