The Jefferson County Commission held a Called Meeting on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in the Historic Jefferson County Courthouse.

The Meeting was Called to Order by Commission Chairman Mills. Absent from Roll Call were Commissioners Patterson, Blevins, Tucker, Barriero and Cureton.

With a Motion from Commissioner Estes and 2nd from Commissioner Carmichael, the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between White Pine and Jefferson County was Approved.

End of year recommendations for amendments were brought by the Budget Committee. The County Commission Approved amendments for the County Fund which had limited fund balance impact and multiple departmental funds with no fund balance impact. Also finding Commission Approval were amendments to the Schools Federal Fund and Student Nutrition Fund. Amendments to the Schools General Fund did have significant fund balance impact in the Operation of Plant items where the request was for $227,692 for overages in electricity, natural gas, water & sewer and building content insurance. Commissioner Scarlett inquired if the overages were taken into account in the budget request for the 2014-2015 fiscal year, as the amended numbers for 2013-2014 exceed the budgeted amount for 2014-2015. Director of Jefferson County Finance Helton stated that he used the numbers provided by the department. The amendment request was Approved with Commissioner Maples voting No.
