Where’s The Dough Go?

Asked AnsweredI was wondering if you know why children are selling cookies and things for school so soon after we pay school fees? What are they doing with the money from these sales and is it necessary?

I know that it feels like parents just laid out a lot of money for school supplies and fees but the reality is that sales really need to happen before the holiday crunch if they are going to be successful. Schools use the funds to pay for things that are not included in the regular budget like playground equipment, telephone bills and other items. It is unfortunate but true that schools do need extra funds to operate. At least most of the merchandise is pretty good. The cookies bake off well and the candy and discount coupon books come in handy.
