The Jefferson County Volleyball team continues to play well as they defeated Cherokee in 3 straight games to improve to 6-2 on the season.

The Lady Patriots would open game 1 on a 9-2 run before they were slowed by a Cherokee timeout. They would extend their lead after the timeout to 21-8 before another Lady Chief timeout. That timeout proved to be beneficial for the Lady Chiefs as they cut the Lady Patriot lead to 22-15. The Lady Patriots would hold on however, and win game 1 , 25-16.

Game 2 saw a different start as the Lady Chiefs were the ones to gain an early lead at 5-3. The lead was short lived however, as the Lady Pats would again go on a 9-2 run to take a 11-7 lead at the next Cherokee timeout. The Lady Chiefs would hang around in game 2 thanks in large part to some miscues by the Lady Pats. “I think we took some steps today, but we’re still not there yet.” Head Coach Salem Odham said of her team’s effort. The Lady Patriots would win game 2 , 25-18.

In game 3 the intensity picked up a bit and it was evident on the court, as their were more bodies flying across the floor. The game was close throughout, neither team with more than a 3 point lead, before Jefferson County would pull away to sweep the Lady Chiefs with a game 3 score of, 25-17.

The Lady Patriots return to action Thursday at home against Sevier County, Junior Varsity at 4:30, Varsity to follow.
