Thanksgiving; Something For Everyone

I was wondering what you think about stores opening on Thanksgiving? Don’t you believe that it should be family time and leave the shopping until Friday?

Many things have gone by the wayside and waiting to shop appears to be one of them. Personally, I like to spend Thanksgiving in a turkey stupor but it is not my place to answer for everyone. I have a very good friend that loves to shop with her daughter while the guys watch football after Thanksgiving lunch. I also have friends that have no family around close by or their children are with their in laws on alternate years and they keep themselves busy with a little shopping. In another lifetime, when I was in just out of college, I worked in an industry that never closed. I would offer to work on Thanksgiving so my colleagues could spend time with their families. Somehow it all works out and, while I may not be shopping on Thanksgiving, I am sure that other’s will.
