Pull-Apart Pizza Rolls

recipe-entreeIf you’re looking for an easy, crowd pleasing appetizer for New Year’s Eve, have I got the recipe for you. I took this to my family’s Christmas Eve get-together and brought nothing home. It was so good! And nothing beats the flavor and meltability of fresh mozzarella cheese – don’t skimp on this. If you like, you can even sprinkle a little fresh chopped parsley on the rolls after brushing with the melted butter mixture.

Ingredients:

1 can refrigerated pizza dough

Fresh mozzarella balls (I use BelGioioso)

Mini pepperoni slices

2 T butter

¼ t garlic salt

Marinara sauce, for dipping

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Take pizza dough out of package. Roll or stretch it into a large rectangle, approximately 9 x 12”. Cut into 25 – 30 squares.

Place 2 mozzarella balls and 5 pepperoni slices on each dough square. Pull sides together, pressing edges together to seal into a ball. Place rolls touching each other in a ring on a cookie sheet, leaving a hole in the middle big enough for a bowl to hold the marinara dipping sauce (to be placed after baking).

Bake for 15 minutes, until lightly browned on top. Carefully transfer to serving plate.

Melt butter and mix in garlic salt. Brush over top of baked pizza rolls. Place bowl of marinara dipping sauce inside ring before serving.
