ROBERT “BOB” DALE CRABTREE

Robert “Bob” Dale Crabtree died at age 70 at home on December 29, 2014 from complications from a 61-year long battle with diabetes, as well as heart problems. He was born in Oregon and lived there until moving away after graduating from Oregon State University. He was a spring board diver and cheerleader while at OSU. From there, he went on to work with Campus Crusade for Christ at UCLA and Mississippi State University where he met his future wife Peggy Noonan of Pensacola, FL. Shortly after marrying Peggy in 1971, he began working on his graduate degree and finished a PhD from Texas A&M in Recreation Administration where he taught for several years. He also taught at Auburn University and Carson-Newman University. Wherever he taught, he was loved by his students. He enjoyed teaching swimming, especially to his five children. His favorite past-time was studying the Bible.
He was preceded in death by his older brother Tom of Dallas, Oregon and is survived by his parents, Dale and Linore of Eugene, Oregon and four brothers: Don, Jack, David of Oregon, and Kent of Alaska. He is survived by his wife Peggy of 43 years, and five children, all of whom live locally: Macy Greenlee (Derrick), Robert Jr. (Melissa), David (Candace), Peter (Valerie), and Catherine (Jason) Reed. His seventeen wonderful grandchildren will so miss their grandpa.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, January 4th at 2:00 at True Life Church of Jefferson City. Family will greet friends after the service.
