MARY ALICE LAWSON

Mary Alice Lawson, age 89 of Jefferson City, TN passed away on January 5, 2015. Born March 6, 1925 in Ohio, “The Dutchman” was always part Yankee but at heart a Southern Lady. Mrs. Lawson was a supportive pastor’s wife, an accomplished musician and vocalist and loving mother. Preceded in death by husband, Rev. Luther Eldridge Lawson; parents, John Wesley Ruble and Ida Mae Brooks Ruble; sisters, Inez Gibson and Elizabeth Davis; and brother, Victor Ruble. She is survived by children, Glenda Ruth Byrd, Donald Wayne Lawson, Rev. Luther Rodney Lawson and wife Nedra, Melford Wesley Lawson and wife Charlene, Vera Dawn Moore and husband Tommy and Teresa Mae Lawson; grandchildren, Gregory and Regina Byrd, Scott and Carla Byrd, Bradley Lawson, Lindsey Lawson, Shane and Jill Lawson, Jamie Lawson and David and Holly Lawson; thirteen great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City with Rev. Rodney Lawson and Rev. John Pinkston officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside interment service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Mausoleum Chapel of Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Kingsport, TN. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Gregory Byrd, Scott Byrd, Shane Lawson, Jamie Lawson, David Lawson, Bradley Lawson and Brandon Byrd.
