Spring Forward

Those that are looking for a little extra time in the sun will get some help this week, as daylight saving time kicks off. In the early morning hours on Sunday, March 8, 2015 time will move forward one hour, effectively creating one more hour of daylight in the evening hours. At 2 am on March 8th, clocks should be moved up one hour, turning two o’clock into three o’clock with the move of the hands.

Loosing a little sleep is well worth it for daylight saving time fans, and while most people are happy to have a little extra daylight in the evenings, it will also mean waiting a little while on the morning sunrise. As the United States continues to move toward the middle of June, which boasts the longest day of the year, one of the lower 50 states, Arizona, will not be observing daylight saving time. Hawaii, also, will be sitting out the forced movement of the clock hands on Sunday morning.

For the rest of the United States, daylight saving time will be brightening the days until 2am on November 1, 2015, when time “falls back”. Until then, enjoy the extra time to spend outside and be sure to hit the hay a little early on Saturday night to accommodate for the loss of an hour of sleep.
