Some Final Easter Egg Fun

(These crystal eggs are beautiful when the crystals shimmer in the sunlight, easy to do and fascinating to observe the chemical reaction)

Supplies Needed:

– Borax {found with laundry detergent}

– Water

– Jars or vases

– Egg shells {cleaned with warm water}

– Food coloring

Instructions:

– Remove the top portion of the egg-shell making sure you can get the egg in and out easily.

– Dissolve 9 tbsp. of Borax in 3 cups of very hot water.

– Stir the solution until the Borax has completely dissolved.  This can take a few minutes.

– When the solution is crystal clear, pour your Borax and water solution into the glass jars.

– Add food color to the borax/water

– Add the eggs. They will float.

– Now, wait and watch the magic for 24-48 hours

Marbled Easter Egg Sensory Activity

(Amazing sensory fun for Easter.)

Supplies Needed:

– A tray of shaving cream

– Food coloring

Instructions:

– Fill a tray (a pie plate works great!) with shaving cream.

– Drop in a several drops of two different colors of food coloring (gel coloring works great).

– Drop hard boiled eggs, one at a time into the shaving cream mix and roll it around.

– When finished playing, take the eggs out of the shaving cream and let them sit for a bit.

– Wipe the shaving cream off the egg to get a marble effect.
