CLEOPHAS “CLEE” JOHNSON, age 87, of New Market, TN passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was of the Baptist faith, and was the owner/operator of Johnson Clearing for over 40 years. Preceded in death by son, Johnny Phil Johnson; parents, Chalmers and Alza Johnson; two brothers and two sisters. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine Johnson; daughters Gwen (Fred) Hampton of Spartanburg, SC, Sharon (Tom) Nelson of Cincinnati, OH, and Martha (Ervin) Wittman of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Whitson of Burnsville, NC; brother, Howard Johnson of Sherills Ford, NC; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Hampton officiating. Interment to follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The King’s Academy, 202 Smothers Road, Seymour, TN 37865.
