Jefferson County Elementary students from across the County met at Jefferson Middle School football field for County Wide Field Day. Athletes competed in field events such as the long jump and sack race, as well as both relay and individual track events. Schools were divided into large or small divisions, with Jefferson Elementary, Dandridge Elementary, Mt Horeb and White Pine representing the large division and Piedmont, New Market, Rush Strong and Talbott Elementary Schools representing the small division. Great weather and strong competition were the order of the day, as each student pushed hard to bring home the blue ribbon for their school. Individual winners were recognized in each event. However all the schools were working to bring home the big team trophy for their school trophy case. Dandridge Elementary School claimed first place in the large division and Piedmont brought home the blue in the small division. The coveted Sportsmanship Award went to New Market School for their great attitude during competition.
