MARY EVELYN SMITH, age 79, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Marshall C. (Dock) Smith; parents, U. E. (Jack) and Bonnie Hatmaker Prater; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Beecher Cochran. She is survived by sons, Jeff (Cindi) Prater of Talbott, Randy (Jennifer) Smith of Cookeville; daughters, Karen Smith of Jefferson City, Lori (Alfred) Stallings of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan Prater, Brandon Smith, Phoenix Roberts, Autumn, Sarah and Matthew Stallings; great-granddaughter, Mallorie Daniels-Prater; beloved pets, Roford (deceased), Baby and Casey. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. George Miller officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Farrar Funeral home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
