DONALD EDWARD PARTON

Donald Edward Parton, TSGT USAF (Ret.), age 65, of Kodak, Tennessee; born on August 31, 1949, died early Thursday morning, May 28, 2015 peacefully in his sleep, at his home in Kodak where he resided with his daughter, Donna G. Parton-Baker.

Mr. Parton was Southern Baptist, a man set in his old fashioned ways. Retired TSGT from the U.S. Air Force . He retired after 20 years from Luke Air Force Base in Goodyear, AZ to Bronson, FL in April of 1990, where after a year he moved up to the Pan Handle in Florida and lived in Altha, FL, worked in Bristol, FL at Liberty County Correctional Facility as a correctional officer for 5 1/2 years. Finally deciding to return to his home state of TN and Sevier County where he was born and raised. Mr. Parton enjoyed taking his morning walks to the local convenient store to get his daily local newspapers (Knoxville News Sentinel & Mountain Press), reading a variety of different magazines, playing card games (including Spades, Gin Rummy & Solitaire) & he loved to listen to old Rock/Country mix music.

Survivors include a brother, Ricky L. Parton of Palestine, Texas and a sister, Linda S. Dollar of Arizona City, Arizona; three daughters, oldest – Shawna E. Parton of Old Town, FL, middle – Donna G. Parton-Baker of Kodak, TN and youngest – Kalisha C. R. Garcia of Tampa, FL. Seven grandchildren – six grandsons and one granddaughter…Shawna’s daughter Haylee G. Langford, Donna’s four sons Brandon L. Allen, Caleb E. N. Baker, Harley-David E. Baker and Isaac D. Baker and youngest Kalisha’s two sons Devon I. Parton and Daloni C. Garcia. One great-granddaughter – Brandon’s daughter Harmony Nicole Allen.

Mr. Parton was preceded in death by his father Lee Roy Parton in November of 1977, mother Ruby L. Curtis in August of 2012, and two brothers Luther D. Parton in January of 1996 and Grady A. Parton in August of 2011. GOD REST ALL OF THEIR SOULS AS THEY JOIN TOGETHER TO WATCH OVER ALL OF US HAND IN HAND.

ANGELS IN WAITING…Graveside funeral services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 2:00pm at Fain Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE.
