Habitat for Humanity got a helping hand this week from the Jefferson City Christian Church. Luke Emmert – the church’s youth pastor, Tara Patel – the Habitat Volunteer Coordinator, Jeff Hayes – the Habitat Construction Manager, and a group of ten students helped restore a home in Rushstrong Thursday, accomplishing a substantial amount of work in a mere afternoon. Emmert stated that the Church’s work with habitat began back in March, when they helped build walls for a home. The Jefferson City Christian Church has made this work their mission for the Summer, with Emmert stating that the group felt a calling to help the community this year, and that their efforts could be well spent at home. Loving the collaborative work, Emmert and the teens eagerly await any further opportunities to work alongside Habitat for Humanity.
