The eighties were a great decade for Jefferson County High School and it was a flash from the past last weekend as ten years worth of Jefferson County Patriots came together for a multi year reunion. The event was hosted at the Havely Farm on Dumplin Valley Road and the “me generation” came out in force for a chance to spend the evening revisiting old times. Mullets and mustangs, hot rollers and parachute pants, the Patriots of the past may not have been sporting many of the monikers of their decade but they still carried the Patriot Pride. The 1980s was a stellar decade for JCHS, as the flagship school was an academic and athletic powerhouse. Though the group were no longer teenagers, they proved that they can still party like it’s 1999. Well, at least until 11:59. Touching base with old friends and meeting new ones, reminiscing about the hay days of JCHS and, if only for a little while, seeing the world through the eyes of a teenager were the order of the evening, and the sprinkles on the cake were some great tunes from the past and a photo booth to capture the memories. Patriots Forever!
