It was a packed house on Thursday evening, August 27, 2015, as the United Way of Jefferson County kicked off their 2015 Campaign with a Parade of Tables and Silent Auction. The Jefferson City Christian Church hosted
the event and the fellowship hall looked spectacular. Local businesses and groups sponsored and decorated individual tables in a bevy of eclectic themes. Colorful centerpieces and table settings touting everything from fall décor and tailgate to fanciful feathers and china made for interesting viewing.
Special Guest Speakers for the evening were Robin Wilhoit, WBIR Anchor, and Dr. Jack Lacey, Chief Medical Officer for UT Medical Center. The pair provided information on the charitable works of the organization, the importance of community supporting community, as well as some interesting antidotes about the United Way. Local Chair Mitch Cain, of Appalachian Electric, voiced his appreciation for those in attendance, as well as the donations of time and funds to support the Jefferson County United Way. Masters of Ceremony for the evening were Richard Hall, of Modern Woodmen, and Charles Gibson, Administrator of Election for Jefferson County.
