BREAKING NEWS! – Bomb Threat At White Pine School

Students and staff at White Pine School were evacuated early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2015 due to a computer generated bomb threat. According to information from the Department of Education, around 8:50am the Central Office was informed of the threat, much along the lines as similar threats that were received recently in Hamblen County. Principal Walker cleared the school and appropriate authorities are on the scene investigating. As of 9:30 students and staff were still awaiting the all clear to go back into the school and no further information was available. Updates will be made as the situation continues to progress.

Children and Staff have now been allowed back into the school, however, Shelter In Place has been initiated.

****** UPDATE***** as of 3:09 p.m.

According to the Jefferson County Department Of Education, no threats were identified and the Shelter In Place was lifted at approximately 2:30 p.m.
