The Jefferson County High School Future Farmers of American recently hosted a Fall petting zoo at Jefferson County High School. Students were allowed to touch a variety of animals under the direction of FFA members. From horses to turkeys and sheep to cattle, select special students got up close and personal with animals that might be encountered at a local farm. The local FFA organization is very active and is open to students that have an interest in agriculture related activities. It provides hands on learning opportunists through a variety of activities and events, such as the recent petting zoo, and promotes traditional American values and citizenship.
