Maury Middle School Students Give Community Early Christmas Present
Maury Middle School students gave the community an early Christmas present last week as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands and chorus performed traditional holiday music to a standing room only crowd. Beyond the wonderful music, students also tickled the funny bone with a hee haw inspired comedy sketch and the reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Despite the merriment, the true meaning of Christmas was not lost on the students or audience, as students read the Christmas story.
Prior to the evening’s performance, guests were treated to snacks and a tour of seasonally decorated trees and displays of student art work. Even Santa made an appearance at the event, drawing a candy cane or special surprise from his sack. Maury Middle School students were able to see the show before they left for Christmas break on Friday.
