A Launch Party was held for the newly released children’s book, “Bedtime Stories from McIntyre’s Farm” (Cartho Publishing). The celebration was held at Panther Springs UMC with between 150-180 in attendance. Special guests, Alyssa Werner, the current Miss Pre-Teen Tennessee and Pam Velder, Executive Director of Morristown Hamblen Humane Society, were there to help promote the book and its purpose.

The author, Sandy Whittle, M.Ed, wrote the stories to inspire a love of learning and to encourage reading to a child. This book is extra special because none of the thirty-seven illustrations were created with the aid of computer digital imaging. They were each hand drawn and colored by Julee Crews, a native of Brunswick, Georgia.

The book is a collection of six stories all about the adventures of a dog, McIntyre, and his farm friends. Each animal family learns in their own happenings daily, how to work, live, and play with one another.

McIntyre, a Scottish Terrier, is a rescue dog. He has been living with the Whittle family for about five years. He is the inspiration for the story collection, with two more books slated to be released this year. In his honor, a portion of the proceeds are donated to Morristown Hamblen Humane Society.

Schools, daycares, and libraries are encouraged.
