During the month of February, AEC will join utilities across the TN Valley in celebrating public education. The campaign entitled “Love of Learning” is designed to show appreciation to local educators and community leaders for the wonderful jobs they do in educating and serving the youth of our Co-op membership. “We are fortunate to have very strong partnerships with our local schools and community groups; a partnership that allows us to share the science, safety and efficiency of electricity”, says LeAnn Sutton, AEC’s Education Energy Advisor. “Working together we build stronger communities and develop robust generations of Co-op members.

During the month of February, AEC has engaged in a social media effort to raise awareness and appreciation for educators. The Co-op has also shown its appreciation by presenting local schools with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies during what is appropriately deemed as “Sweet Week”. “It’s the little things we all do that really mean a lot”, says Kim McGhee, AEC Member Service Representative. “Encouraging our Co-op membership to thank our teachers, administrators and support staff is one small way to support the Love of Learning.” Many employees of AEC plan to participate in Read Across America, with local students in the coming weeks and the Co-op plans to present trees to various local schools for planting later this spring. As the trees grow, so does our Love for Learning. AEC offers many resources from ready-to-use lesson plans to hands-on demonstrations and displays. You can check out our education opportunities under the community tab on our website at aecoop.org

AEC is proud to honor our education process and the men and women who give so much to make us better people and better communities. Join us in thanking a teacher and follow us on Facebook, it’s all about our Love for Learning.
