The Jefferson County boys basketball team made the trip to Morristown East High School to face off against the David Crockett High School Pioneers in a tough battle Tuesday night.  The 20-4 Pioneers had depth on both sides of the court, and dominated the scoring game, especially in the first quarter, when they hit three long three-pointers in a row withing the first minutes of the game. The Patriots would rally the troops, with layups from both Noah Carter and Danny Bates, but ended the first quarter down 22-8.

The second quarter was a defensive struggle for the Patriots, but JCHS strengthened their wall.  In the second quarter, the Patriots would only give up 13 points, but the Pioneers defense was also tight, and JCHS would only sink 9 points in the second quarter, ending the half down 35-19.

The second half of play caught the Patriots getting worn down, but they would not go down without a fight.  Despite an admirable defensive effort, the Pioneers sank 20 points in the third quarter, making the gap between the teams 30 and ending the third quarter 55-25

The fourth quarter saw both teams getting worn out, as both the Pioneers and Patriots only added 8 to their scores, making the end score David Crockett 63 Jefferson County 33.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, the Jefferson County Patriots have a lot to celebrate.  As the seniors go on to a bright future, they have 100 wins under their belt, and end this season with an outstanding 11-2 record.  Best wishes to Noah Carter, Danny Bates, Grant Seale, Riley Denton, and Trey Dobyns, and great job this season making all of us here at the Jefferson County Post PATRIOT PROUD.
