Spring is in the Air
After weathering a brisk February, warm weather lovers will bask in early spring like temperatures this week. With predictions showing the thermometer hovering in the upper 70s by mid week, it appears that Old Man Winter may have released his grasp on East Tennessee. Though the official start of spring is still several weeks away, meteorological spring began on March 1st. In the science of meteorology, the seasons are divided into months, unlike the calendar seasons, with March, April and May considered the spring months.
It appears that Mother Nature may be taking her cue from the weather scientists because early spring flowers have begun to bloom in the area. Though those that are native to the region know that changes in weather can be swift and the best way to know what the days will bring is to look out the window, for now it appears that warmer days are on tap and the frost of February will soon be a distant memory.
The Spring Equinox will officially be at 12:30 a.m on March 20, 2016 but until then a little sunshine and warmer temperatures will be paving the way for Spring 2016 and all the beauty that she will bring.
