Daylight Savings Time 2016 Begins March 13

Night owls are in for a tough readjustment starting this Sunday. Daylight Savings Time 2016 officially begins Sunday, March 13, at 2:00 A.M., robbing late risers all across America of an hour of sleep. Despite the disruption to people’s schedules, DST has a number of benefits. Any area that is driven by tourism, as well as shops, sporting events, and most evening social activities, will benefit from the extra daylight following normal working hours. Today, the ultimate usefulness of DST is in question due to the impact on farmers, morning activities, and social disruption. Still, until the debate is settled, the clocks will continue to roll forward. Whether you are begrudgingly accepting your earlier start to the day or welcoming the warm weather and extra sunlight, be sure to set your clocks forward an hour before going to bed on Saturday. If you want your hour of sleep back, the good news is that you’ll only have to wait until November 6.
