JCHS Honors Students with ACT Luncheon

Faculty from Jefferson County High School served and honored students with an ACT luncheon Friday afternoon. The lunch was for for senior students garnering a minimum composite score of 21 on the ACT,  the curriculum-and standards-based assessment used to measure college readiness.

Students earning a score of 21 or better on the ACT are eligible to receive the HOPE Lottery Scholarship, which pays $4,000 per year at an eligible four-year postsecondary institution or a two-year eligible postsecondary institution that offers on-campus housing, or $2,000 per year at an eligible two-year postsecondary institution.

Over 150 students were eligible to attend the lunch. As a special surprise intensive, they were entered into a drawing to win Brantley Gilbert tickets for his April 15th show in Knoxville.
