Habitat for Humanity hosted the community on Thursday for an open house. The event took place at the organization’s store located on Hwy 92 and afforded locals the opportunity to visit the location and see what the charitable organization has to offer in the way of gifts and shopping. A large facility, the Habitat store has a wide variety of goods that are available for purchase, including new and gently used household items, collectables, clothing, books, furniture and even high end boutique clothing, all for a very reasonable price. The store is one of the major fundraisers for Habitat for Humanity and the proceeds go toward providing a hand up to Jefferson County residents in need. The Business after hours was a big success and highly attended by the community. Residents are encouraged to come out, visit the store and do a little shopping. Habitat for Humanity is also a great place to make a Christmas gift donation and offers the benefit of being tax deductible.
