The Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity hosted their annual golf tournament on Thursday. People from all over Jefferson County and surrounding areas came out in support of the organization’s many projects, including the Racine Ridge Community and the ReStore. The major sponsor for the event was Tennova Health Care, and many representatives from Jefferson Memorial Hospital were also present for the event.

The Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian non-profit organization designed to help people with the dream of owning their own home. They benefit lower income families, who in turn provide “sweat equity” for their down payment. Low interest, long term mortgages help with the process of not only allowing low income families be able to afford their own homes, but also fund future projects. Along with generous donations, and faithful volunteers, the Jefferson County Habitat of Humanity is in the process of building its largest community yet: Racine Ridge. Racine Ridge is a community located just off of Crooke Road in Jefferson City.
