The Martha Dandridge Washington chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met for a tea and celebration of life at Glenmore Mansion on Saturday. Several of the group’s members gathered together to remember the legacy and birthday of Martha Dandridge Washington. This tea was meant to celebrate the 285th year of Martha Washington’s birthday.

Members honored Washington in many ways, including a historical reading of the chronicle of her life, tours around Glenmore mansion, and a celebratory round of Happy Birthday followed by tea and refreshments. Daughters of the American Revolution wanted to express the inspiration that Martha Washington has been to several generations beyond her own. The importance of the day was fellowship and fun for all members as the group hopes to make this tea an annual event.
