H. B. CHAMBERS

H. B. CHAMBERS, age 85, a lifelong resident of Dandridge, TN peacefully passed into the arms of his Lord on Friday, July 01, 2016. He was the son of the late Boss and Pauline Moore Chambers. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Billie Jean McCoig Chambers; children, Mark (Jane) Chambers, Karen Chambers, and Steven (Angie) Chambers; grandchildren, Shane Chambers and Haley (Dr. Josh) Manuel; great-granddaughter, Emery Grace Manuel; brother, Cecil “Harry” Chambers; sister-in-law, Gwen McCoig; special friends, Kenneth Smith and Kenneth Thornhill, and a host of relatives and other friends. H.B graduated from Maury High School in 1949 and attended the East Tennessee Teachers College, now ETSU. He was active in sports for many years and grew into an avid spectator. He retired from American Enka/BASF after 34 years and was active in numerous civic clubs. Anyone fortunate enough to know H.B. was blessed to have known a honest and true man. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care he received at the Franklin Cottage of Jefferson County Nursing Home and at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts be made to the Shady Grove Cemetery Fund, 1675 Harold Patterson Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Graveside funeral services will be held, Sunday, July 3, 2016, 2:00pm at Shady Grove Cemetery. Following the service the family will greet family and friends at the Shady Grove UMC fellowship hall. Friends may call and sign the guest register at their convenience on Saturday afternoon and Sunday until 1:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
