Top Resolutions for 2017

January (and snow) has arrived, and with it a new year. Now is the time that many of us begin reflecting on how we want to improve our lives and attitudes in the coming months. This time things will be different, we want to love and learn all that we can with the precious three hundred and sixty five days that we have been given. Here are the year’s most popular New Year’s Resolutions for 2017.

While some of the resolutions might look the same as they have in years past, people have new focus on how to keep and maintain their goals. Experts report that the most popular resolution is to get healthy. The term had been searched on google more than 62,776,640 times. This is up 13.77 percent from the past year. Following closely is “getting organized” with more than 33,230,420 searches. This is up 7.41 percent over the last year.

People are also resolving to live life to the fullest, with over 18,970,210 searches on that subject alone. This is up 13.04 percent from 2016. For many, living life to the fullest could possibly be broken down into several more specific categories, given a person’s interpretation.

Learning a new hobby also makes the list with 17, 438,670 searches, up 4.72 percent from the last year. Spending less and saving more makes the list with 15,905,290 searches, up 17.47 percent. This could especially be a result from the busy holiday season and all of the holiday shopping that many of us took part in.

Surprisingly, two categories in the resolutions list have gone down over the past several years. Traveling only received 5,964,130 searches, which is down 0.82 percent from the previous year. Reading more also saw a decline, with only 4,746,560 searches, down 5.63 percent from 2016.

One popular alternative resolution this year is learning something new. That learning could be something small, like working on a new skill, or something big, like learning a new language.

People are resolving to be kinder, nicer and more patient with their fellow man. This can be especially useful given the fast paced world that we live in today, with many taking the most time for themselves rather than others. Some are even resolving to get a fresh start with a new job. People can focus their energies on new ideals and objectives and channel them into career success.

Another popular resolution is to volunteer and donate more time to charity. Again, we try our best to shift the focus from ourselves to others. 2017 might also find many attempting to drink less alcohol. This can allow for a healthier life style, as well as ease interpersonal relations.

Experts found that many are trying to get more sleep and relax more. Many of us struggle with this in our everyday lives. Sometimes it is hard to shut off our brains after a long day, but it is beneficial to our success and health. The last alternative resolution is to make new friends and be a better friend. Personal relationships and friendships are crucial to helping us survive and live our happiest life. Try some of these resolutions or make your own to have the best 2017 possible.
