Department of Safety & Homeland Security’s Mobile Driver License Unit to Provide Services at Veterans Affairs Office

The Department of Safety and Homeland Security’s mobile driver license unit will provide driver services at Veterans Affairs Office located at 931 Industrial Park Road in Dandridge.  The unit will be available Thursday, January 19, and will continue to provide services on the second Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The mobile unit allows the department to issue non-commercial and commercial driver licenses to help reduce wait times at driver services centers. Mobile unit examiners will be available to assist citizens with a variety of driver services, including the issuance of non-commercial and commercial driver licenses, renewals, and duplicates, address changes and photo identifications.

The mobile unit was created to help implement the “Highways for Heroes” program to assist veterans and active duty military personnel who drive commercial grade vehicles during service to obtain commercial driver licenses (CDLs).
