The Martha Dandridge Washington Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution met together this weekend for their annual celebration tea fundraiser. The celebration marked the 286th birthday of none other than Martha Dandridge Washington, whom the chapter is named after. The NSDAR partnered with Glenmore mansion for the event.

The celebration was marked with a quick tour of Glenmore Mansion and its grounds to visitors. This was followed by a creative interpretation, entitled “Martha at the Front,” by Craig Starnes. The ladies then joined together to sing Happy Birthday to Martha in the foyer of Glenmore. Finally, guests joined together in prayed led by Chaplin Elizabeth Finchum, and a light tea was served.

The Martha Dandridge Washington chapter would like to thank the community and those involved with Glenmore for supporting them in their effort of promoting patriotism, historic preservation, and education.
