CARROLL THOMAS “CHUCK” WATSON

Carroll Thomas “Chuck” Watson, of Jefferson City, TN passed away peacefully Sunday June, 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1936 in Ocoee, TN. After serving in the US Army, Chuck began a 30+ year career with the Tennessee Valley Authority as administrator of Cherokee and Norris Dams and later Director of Employee Benefits. He was a graduate of The University of Tennessee. He was retired from TVA. A devoted Tennessee football fan, and an active member of his church and community. A loving father and friend to all. Chuck was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Sally Watson of Ocoee, TN, and his three brothers, Bill, George, and Dick Watson. He is survived by his children, their spouses, his lifelong best friend, three grandchildren, a sister, and his beloved dog, Rocky. Richard Lee and Mariah Watson of Knoxville, Katie Ellen and Austin Williams, and grandson Oliver of Woodbridge, VA, step son Jeffrey Douglas Beckman, and granddaughters Taylor and Ashley Beckman, and lifelong best friend Steven Plantz of Jefferson City. He is also survived by his sister, Edna Brewer of Cleveland, TN, as well as numerous nieces and nephews all around the country and world. All who knew him he considered family, and he leaves the world a better a place. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City on Thursday, June 8. Receiving of friends will be from 12-2pm with service to follow at 2pm. He will be interred at a family graveside service at Cookson Creek Cemetery in Ocoee, TN where he will rest beside his parents and family.
