Events to Bring Christmas Cheer this Holiday Season

The holidays are busy for many of us between our own schedule, family, and with everything going on in the community. If you are looking for some fun and festive activities to take part this season, look no farther. Here is a list events happening locally this Christmas season, so you won’t miss a minute of all the holly jolly fun.

Dandridge already kicked off the Christmas season early with its combination Merriment on Main Street and Small Business Saturday event. This will be followed by events every Saturday in December in Downtown, leading up to the Dandridge Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

Jefferson City will be holding their annual Christmas parade on Saturday December 9th, 2017. The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the heart of downtown Jefferson City, and line up for the event will begin at 1:00 p.m. The parade is just one of several activities going on during the 6th Annual Hometown Christmas celebration. The event will be held also on December 9th, and will last until 5:00 p.m., and includes entertainment, door prizes, food trucks, crafts for the kids, a photo booth and more. The event is free and is located in downtown Jefferson City.

Glenmore Mansion will also be holding its annual Christmas tours. The next tour dates are December 9-10. Daylight tours will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue until 5:00 pm, and Candlelight tours will begin at 7:0 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. Admission for adults is $5 and children 12 and under for $2. Tours will begin every half hour.

The New Market Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday December 16th, 2017. Line up for the parade should begin at 11:00 a.m., with the parade to follow at noon in the heart of New Market.

If you are looking to travel a bit farther for holiday cheer, Gatlinburg has ushered in the season with aplomb. Dowtown Gatlinburg has the Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights, which takes you on a tour of the beautifully decorated town displays. Admission is $5.00. Winter Magic Tunes & Tales will stroll the streets og Gatlinburg on December 15 and 16, bringing song, humor, and cheer anyone who wants to stop and watch. Keep your eyes peeled for even more events being announced as the season continues! Whatever you decide to do, have a safe and happy season with those you love this Christmas.
