Jefferson County Schools Receive Settlement For Building 8 Collapse
Thursday, August 30th the Jefferson County Board of School Commissioners held a special called meeting and authorized the Director of Schools to work with the attorney representing Jefferson County, Mr. Albert Harb, to agree with Traveler’s Insurance on a final amount.
Jefferson County Schools has received the final settlement check from Traveler’s Insurance Group in regards to the lawsuit associated with Building 8. The total received by Jefferson County Schools is $737,508.67.
“We are grateful that the legal system has awarded this amount to the Jefferson County School System. There were lots of individuals that worked hard during this process as they fought for the taxpayers of Jefferson County. Now we will move forward and make sure we are good stewards with this additional resource.” (Shane Johnston)
